For those of you too young to remember, the Karate Kid was a great film, it was about a young lad moving to another part of the country with his mother, he gets into a bit of trouble and ends up getting bullied. The caretaker at his apartment is a master of the art of Karate, he takes him under his wing and teaches his young student this fighting art.

At the end of the film he has to battle in a competition with the local bullies, the Cobra Kai, he beat the bully by doing the ‘Crane kick’, this was the best part of the film. Karate Kid is romantic, cheesy and still makes me smile.

When it was released every young lad that saw it wanted to learn the art of self defence. That was over 25 years ago.
